Frequently Asked Questions

Starting therapy often comes with questions. Here are a few answers to help you get started.

  • To schedule a free, 15-minute consultation, please fill out the contact form or click the link on the Get in Touch page. You can expect a response within 1–2 business days.

  • The first few sessions are focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We’ll talk about your current concerns, any relevant history, and what you’re hoping to get out of the process. You’re welcome to share at your own pace. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out right away

Sessions are collaborative, and we will find a flow that feels comfortable for you.

  • Individual sessions are 50 minutes and $200 per session. The overall length of therapy varies depending on your needs and goals.

A limited number of sliding scale spots are reserved for clients who may benefit from a reduced fee. If cost is a concern, you are welcome to reach out to discuss current availability.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide at least 24 hours notice. Late cancellations or missed appointments are subject to a fee.

Please keep in mind that insurance companies generally do not cover missed session fees.

  • Sessions are offered via telehealth for clients located in New Jersey and Colorado.

  • AZ Therapy does not accept insurance directly. However, many insurance plans offer reimbursement for out of network psychotherapy. Documentation can be provided for you to submit to your insurance provider.

If you have out of network benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement, often between 60–80% of the session fee. Prior to starting, it’s helpful to contact your insurance provider to better understand your coverage.

    Some helpful questions to ask:

    • Do I have out of network coverage for outpatient psychotherapy (CPT code 90837)?

    • What is my deductible, and has it been met?

    • What is my coinsurance, or the percentage my insurance will cover after my deductible?

  • I’ve partnered with Mentaya, a service that streamlines getting reimbursed for your therapy sessions through out-of-network benefits. A majority of my clients use this service and reportMentaya is perfect if you:

    • Have out-of-network benefits

    • Feel overwhelmed by superbills and insurance

    • Have submitted superbills but failed to get any reimbursement

    • Simply want to skip the hassle of paperwork!

    Here's how it works:

    1. Sign up for Mentaya: https://mentaya.co/inviteclient/Tje0u4vGe3vh9aRnqpOc

    2. I will enter your sessions into the platform.

    3. Mentaya submits the claim and handles any insurance follow-up.

    4. You get reimbursed by insurance!

Mentaya charges a 5% fee per claim to the client, which includes handling any paperwork required, dealing with denials, and calling insurance companies.

  • I work with individuals navigating anxiety, stress, OCD, ADHD, and major life transitions, as well as those feeling stuck in patterns like burnout, perfectionism, or relationship challenges. I also support neurodivergent clients, athletes, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, creating a space that feels grounded, supportive, and tailored to you. I help clients move out of overthinking patterns and into sustainable action.

  • Finding the right therapist matters, and that’s why I offer free, 15-minute consultation calls. If you're looking for support with anxiety, OCD, ADHD, life transitions, or relationships, and want an approach that feels thoughtful, collaborative, and personalized, this may be a good fit. Therapy should feel like a space where you’re both supported and gently challenged to grow.
